About The Homestead Lodge
Whether your interests lie in the Ultimate Hunting Experience or just want to get away and enjoy nature - fishing or hiking, you will find our family and "God's Country" here for you. The Homestead Lodge in Oxbow, Maine is a year-round combination of the classic New England Farmhouse and Traditional Hunting Lodge with all of the modern conveniences thrown in.
We offer clean comfortable rooms with the beds made up and towels laid out. We do not mix parties and have rooms with 2 single beds and private baths or queen size beds for couples. The dining hall is off the back of the lodge and buffalo herd watching can be enjoyed while you eat family style home cooking. The showers are hot, there is a sitting room with large smart TV with Dish and including Netflix and Hulu and a smart TV in the dining area. We have even high speed access for those who need to stay connected.
For our guest's comfort and an increase in success, we ask that you smoke out doors only. Alcohol is available at our bar in the dining room, but if you bring your own, you cannot bring it into the dining/bar area - Maine State Law. Although drinking is allowed, this is our home and drinking to excess is not.
Remote Maine Hunting Adventures
Hunting success begins when you choose the location of the hunt. And Northern Maine is known for it's endless miles of pristine forests and primeval bogs which lore hunters from all over the country in their quest for that all time Trophy. Hunting success continues when you choose your outfitter. The Homestead Lodge and Big Game Preserve is our livelihood not just a seasonal income.
We know the value of what might well be a once in a lifetime memory! Or even an annual memorable event! So we take our responsibility very seriously and offer World Class Hunts carried out with Old Fashioned Pride and Family Values. So if you are looking for that one on one experience, as well as the trophy and memories, the Homestead Lodge is the place.
Experience Northern Maine's Natural Beauty
Life Experiences are found every day - every minute if we are looking for them. And at the Homestead Lodge we pride ourselves in taking the time to look with you. We believe in and practice good stewardship for the land, river, forest, and wild animals as well as for our own animals. And we back up our family, community and business ethics with our Faith, and conduct ourselves accordingly.
We own 250 acres, which includes the right side of the "Bow" and 1.5 miles of shoreline along the Aroostook River. We are only 4 miles from the Oxbow entrance to The North Maine Woods with 3.6 million acres and 2000 miles of dirt roads. Simply drive north on Interstate 95 to exit 264. Then Route 11 North about 45 miles to the Oxbow Road. Easy access takes 6 hours from Boston, 1 hour from the Canadian Border, and 2 hours from Bangor.
